ArtSpace 111

Artspace 111 is a 3,000 square foot art gallery in downtown Fort Worth specializing in the exhibition of Contemporary Texas Art. Ibanez Shaw reconfigured the gallery space and introduced a new lounge and meeting space. The experience of entry is redefined.   New glass doors introduce daylight to the interior. The lounge engages the entry space a geometric intervention.  An abstracted void formed by a thin steel box, and recessed translucent panels is juxtaposed to fritted glass door placed flush with the frame. The galleries have been reconfigured, and the details refined. The new meeting room is dominated by a white steel panel at the end of the room. Custom wood pegs marry with a grid of holes in this panel to allow for the display of paintings at various scales and elevations on the wall. The fabricated steel table, produced from design and fabrication drawings by Ibanez Shaw, echoes the character of the wall panel.
