Firm Profile

Architecture is more than just buildings. The people who inhabit their spaces, the life that happens within their rooms, the cities that are indelibly changed by their presence, the streetscapes that are enhanced when they are built, and the social structures that can be influenced by their manifestation – all of these define great architecture.

Based in Fort Worth, Texas and founded by Gregory Ibañez, FAIA, and Bart Shaw, FAIA, Ibañez Shaw Architecture operates from the basic belief that everyone deserves the best design. Guided by boundless optimism and creative pragmatism, Ibañez Shaw believes that bold, enlightened design elevates the soul and enriches communities. The firm crafts distinctive, sustainable, and elegant designs that not only meet the needs of clients, but also respond to broader civic and social ambitions. This is true no matter the project’s type, scale or location.

As a boutique design firm, Ibañez Shaw prides itself on sustained principal involvement through the lifecycle of every project. The principals and staff guide clients through a transformative process to create architecture that provides rich personal experiences and positive community impact and that meets the firm’s definition of greatness.

Among the firm’s current and completed work are commercial, civic, interiors, residential and retail projects, including the Amphibian Stage Theatre in Fort Worth; Fort Worth Camera, which houses photography classes, studios, and retail space; Lake Highlands North Aquatic Center in Dallas; the home and guest quarters at Cobham Forest; a new mixed-used building on Eighth Avenue in Fort Worth; and Memory: Fairmount Park, a public art project in Fort Worth.

Ibañez Shaw has received significant and consistent design recognition, including local, national, and international design awards from organizations, such as the American Institute of Architects, International Interior Design Association, and Americans for the Arts.
