Deepdale Residence
The Deepdale residence is located on a plateau above a cul-de-sac. The architects organized the home as a series of three distinct volumes laid diagonally across the site. Each of these pavilions slips past one another, penetrating the hillside and creating interstitial spaces experienced as from glass circulation links.
The courtyard is defined by a stone wall retaining the hillside and parallel to the pavilion containing the living spaces, creating an internal focus into a protected cloister. A series of etherial veils serve as extensions of the white volumes and experienced as part of the entrance experience. The brilliant white glazed masonry radiates a luminous canvas of overlapping of reflections and shadows of the branches of the preserved ancient oaks and the sky beyond.
